Domestic Violence Awareness

Salam Alaikum

I've decided to join Harmony in spreading spread awareness of domestic violence through our communities. This happens in every community, regardless your background or beliefs.
I'm not going to write a lot on this issue, but will ask you to look at her site InshaAllah

Aswell as read this story, only one of many

Holding on

Also there is a charity for domestic violence, which is working to break barriers and bring awareness to the minority groups, especially muslims.

Thanks so much Aisha for spreading the word. You are right Domestic Violence is unfortunately universal and can touch everybody regardless of education, religious beliefs, cultural background and social class.
I think maybe more we talk about it, more victims would feel less isolated and would have less fear to talk about it and ask for help.
The problem nowadays is that Domestic Violence is a know fact but women are still afraid of saying it out loud.

Have a blessed day and thank you for sharing this story and the website.

Great blog masahALLAH!! My mom was a senior social worker for abused children then she moved into counselling adult women abused and in domestic violent relationships. The more people know there is help available the more women will be motivated to change their lives for the better. Jazakillahu khayran for sharing Aisha.

Just as an FYI - Blog address change:

thanks, I'll edit the address InshaAllah

I think many women are afraid to say anthing due to the uncertainty of the outcome, like family relations (especially in asian cultures), what will be in store for them etc aswell as most men probably also abuse them verbally and mentally..
There is also a culture right now where people are afraid to interfere, afraid to step in and help someone who's suffering, InshaAllah this will change

Sanaa wa iyyaki.. MashaAllah may Allah reward ur mum Ameen.. It must be such a rewarding job

Aslam o Alikum Aisha, your blog is really good, its my pleasure if you visit my blog
